Laura Villegas, from Medellín, Colombia, a longtime mentor and leader, has dedicated over 30 years to supporting Latin American migrants at IRMO in the UK. As a human rights defender, legal adviser, and community artist, she has empowered generations through education, arts, and advocacy. Laura’s commitment and wisdom make her a pillar in NewTribe, where she inspires growth, solidarity, and cultural pride among migrants and creatives.

Andrés Posada

Andrés Posada, from Pereira, Colombia, has built a vibrant community arts movement in North London. Arriving in 1997, he overcame migration challenges and found belonging through Nueva Generación. Now leading Bar-Ética, and created NewTribe, Andrés champions singing, art, collaboration, and migrant solidarity. His work highlights trust, resilience, and shared joy, inspiring new generations to connect their roots with creative expression.

Elisabeth Salazar

She is a Venezuelan artist and sustainability advocate. Her dedication to the organization’s foundation and governance highlights her critical role within NewTribe. She leads innovative textile and natural dye workshops, blending nature, culture, and environmental awareness into her art. Elisabeth transforms waste into meaningful community stories, inspiring creativity, ecological responsibility, and cultural pride. 

Ed Berón

Ed Beron, is a Colombian writer, traveler, and cinephile based in London. Also he is one of the founders of NewTribe and a long-time community radio presenter and storyteller. He authored “Enmienda,” a collection of Spanish short stories, and is passionate about photography and exploring cultures worldwide. Ed’s storytelling, curiosity, and love for arts have helped shape its vibrant, creative spirit and community engagement.

Luis Bonilla

Luis Fernando Bonilla grew up in Cartagena and Bogotá, where Colombia’s vibrant culture shaped his artistic spirit. As a sound engineer, artist, and vinyl selector linked with the Royal Sounds reggae band, he runs La Pantera Sound System. A long-time member of NewTribe, Luis shares creativity, music, wisdom, and warmth, helping others grow through collaboration. His story reflects NewTribe’s rhythm of togetherness, learning, and joy.

Diego Echeverry

Diego Echeverry, a Colombian multidisciplinary artist based in London, blends graphic design, photography, and community arts. Deeply involved in Afro-tropical and Latinx cultural events, he fosters creative collaboration and cultural fusion. As a committed community builder, Diego, long-time member of NewTribe, inspires connection and expression, enriching London’s migrant arts scene with energy, vision, and social engagement.

Angélica Reyes

Now leading Barética, a creative squat and cultural hub, Andrés champions art, collaboration, and migrant solidarity. Federico Rivas

Fede is a participatory arts facilitator and community photographer, empowers migrants through storytelling, creativity, and photography. He leads inclusive workshops and projects that build confidence and foster cultural expression. Dedicated to capturing the spirit of cultural ambassadors, Federico’s work promotes dialogue and community wellbeing, making a meaningful impact within migrant and creative networks.

Mayra Alejandra Guzman

Mayra Guzman, from Medellín, Colombia, is a dance practitioner and facilitator deeply rooted in movement and cultural expression. As a longtime member of New Generation and an active force at New Tribe Arts Development CIC, she fosters creativity and community through dance and arts. Mayra’s work empowers migrants and artists to connect through embodied storytelling, helping build vibrant spaces for collaboration, growth, and cultural celebration.

Yamir Rodríguez

Yamir Gaitero, a master musician from Colombia, specialises in Afro-Caribbean and traditional Colombian music with over 20 years of experience. As a dedicated member of New Tribe Arts Development CIC, he preserves and shares rich cultural sounds, fostering community and artistic collaboration. Yamir’s passion for musical heritage inspires connection, creativity, and pride within the NewTribe community and beyond.
